Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Atlantic Finance LLC ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy describes the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the professional services we provide.
Information we collect
To deliver our services we may collect: your name and contact details (phone number, email, and address); identification numbers and tax information; for businesses, financial records and payroll data; technical details such as IP address and browser information when you visit the website; and your correspondence with our team, including text messages if you've opted in to receive them.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to deliver accounting and tax services, prepare and file required tax documentation, process payments, provide secure access to your financial documents, communicate with you about deadlines and your engagement (including by text message where you've consented — see "Text Messaging (SMS) Communications" below), and improve the quality of our services. We never sell or rent your information to third parties.
Financial information we collect (notice to clients)
As an accounting and tax services provider, we are subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and related requirements governing the privacy and security of your nonpublic personal financial information — things like income, tax filings, banking details, and other financial records you provide to us or that we obtain on your behalf. We do not sell this information, and we share it only:
- as needed to complete the services you've engaged us for (for example, e-filing a return with the IRS, or working with your bank or bookkeeping software);
- as required by law, subpoena, or regulatory request; or
- with your consent.
Text Messaging (SMS) Communications
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive text messages from us, the following applies:
- Consent. By submitting your phone number to us — through our website, a form, or verbally — you agree to receive text messages from Atlantic Finance LLC related to appointment reminders, document requests, deadline reminders, and other engagement-related communications. Consenting to text messages is never a condition of receiving our services.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies and messages are recurring, based on your engagement with us (for example, tax deadlines, document requests, or appointment scheduling).
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Opt-out. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages from us. You'll receive a one-time confirmation, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
- Help. Reply HELP for more information, or contact us directly at (561) 973-8448 or Office@accountingatlantic.com.
- No sharing for marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Sharing of information
We share your information only when required by law, when working with vetted third-party providers under confidentiality agreements (for example, our tax software, secure client portal, or phone/text messaging provider), or to protect rights and safety. Any vendors or partners we work with must demonstrate robust data security practices. As noted above, your text-messaging opt-in and mobile number are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data security & confidentiality
We protect your information with encrypted storage, secure client portals, multi-factor authentication, access restricted to authorized team members, and practices that follow IRS, AICPA, and GLBA Safeguards Rule standards for financial data. No method of transmission over the internet is one hundred percent secure, but we work continually to safeguard your data.
Your rights
You may access the information we hold about you, request corrections, request deletion where legally permitted, opt out of non-essential communications, and opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Cookies & website use
We use cookies to improve functionality, analyze website traffic, and remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not work as well.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to deliver our services, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and resolve disputes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
Third-party links
Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for business owners and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated date, and your continued use of our website and services constitutes acceptance of the changes.
